Bad Gastein is situated in the valley of Gastein.

Gastein Valley: 3 towns (Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein) and 4 ski areas.

Gastein ski resort– one valley, four ski areas.

Regardless of where you decide to begin, you`ll quickly discover a mountain destined to become your personal favorite. All of the other ski areas are reachable within a few minutes by car or using the ski bus.

The towns of Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein are interconnected via the Schlossalm – Angertal – Stubnerkogel ski area. It is the largest interdependent ski area in the Gasteinertal.

It extends from 860 – 2300 m above sea level and offers pistes with a height difference of more than 1000 m. The blue (34,10km), red (58,9km) and black (4,6km) pistes are interconnected with modern lifts and cableways and are a garantee for varied piste pleasure for all levels and abilities.

Children and beginners can make their first attempts at the practice area in the Angertal ski centre near Bad Hofgastein. In this ski area you can find several skiing schools, each of them with their own practice area. Advanced and discerning skiers prefer the Hohe Scharte Nord. This ski trail is 10.4 km long and one of the longest runs in the East Alps.

The Böckstein trail is an easy grade trail at approx. 1100m above sea level for cross-country skiers. It has a classic and a skating track.

The ski area of Sportgastein is the right choice for sportspeople . It is the highest situated ski area (2686 m) known for its deep snow, mogul piste and it is one of the Alps Freeride Hotspots.

Sportgastein is a country-cross paradise as well. Every wish is catered for thanks to different routes of varying length for classic and skating technique at 1600m above sea level.

The Graukogel is a challenge for excellent skiers. Its long and difficult runs lie mostly in forest and are therefore well protected from wind. The Graukogel has one disadvantage because it is not connected by a liftsystem with the other ski areas in Gastein.

Gastein is one of five regions of Ski Amadé, Austria`s biggest ski alliance.

After an action-packed day in the snow, Bad Gastein offers the perfect relaxation in the hot springs at the Felsentherme. Gastein`s thermal waters are naturally enriched with valuable minerals and radon, which improves blood circulation and revitalizes the whole body.

The Felsentherme has an impressive spa relaxation area, where you can enjoy a massage, the sauna, as well as visit the fitness center. The Felsentherme has something for everyone, young and old.

In summer and autumn this sunny valley is transformed into a hiking hot spot.
