Flachau, where ski legend Hermann Maier learned how to become a world champion, is connected by the ski area with Wagrain and Alpendorf. Together, they form the ski area Snow Space Salzburg, which received several international awards („Best ski area in the Alps“ - International Skiareatest 2016/17).

Directly from Flachau the ski lifts lead to one of the highlights of the ski area - the 3 km-long 'Hermann Maier World Cup Run'.The rest of the slopes are mostly easy to medium-heavy and lead down across broad meadows into the valley.

For hikers the Flachau region offers 40 km of prepared winter hiking trails.
