In de archipel van Sibenik, bedekt met het mediterraanse dichte kreupelhout, wijngaarden en olijfbomen en omgeven door pittoreske baaien, ligt het eiland Prvic.

Het eiland heeft alleen twee nederzettingen en zijn naam wordt voor het eerst in de 11e eeuw genoemd. Net als de overige eilanden in de archipel van Sibenik heeft ook hier het verleden haar sporen achterlaten in vorm van kultureel-historische monumenten. Verscheidene Barokke altaren, vroegchristelijke fragmenten met verhalen over het kruis en de kerk van de hl. Maria met klooster, dat gebouwd werd door de monniken van Kroatische Christelijke priesters en vele anderen, getuigen van de rijke geschiedenis van dit kleine eiland.

Prvic is ook bekend als het thuis van Faust Vrancic, de uitvinder van de parachute, wiens graf zich in de kerk van de Vrouwe van Mislord bevindt.
