Vodice is een kleine maar bekende toeristische plaats in de riviera van Sibenik die helemaal aan het toerisme ondergeschikt is. Eens leefden de inwoners alleen van de landbouw en visvangst maar vandaag hebben zij deze inkomstenbronnen met het toerisme verbonden en bieden de bezoekers een uitstekend toeristisch aanbod. Het ligt 13 km ten noorden van Sibenik aan een ondiepe baai tussen het kaap Borovik en de baai Vrulja. Mooie stranden, stille baaien en de geurende vegetatie hebben ertoe bijgedragen dat Vodice tot een belangrijke vakantiebestemming is uitgegroeid. Van de vestingen en muren is alleen nog een driehoekige toren, de zgn. Caricev toren uit de 16^e eeuw behouden en er staan nog twee kerken - de kerk van het hl. Kruis op het oude kerkhof uit 1421 en de gelijknamige parochiekerk in het stadscentrum uit 1746.
