Omis

The Dalmatian city of Omis is 25km away from the city of Split and it lies on the left bank and at the mouth of the Cetina river. Its spacious beaches stretch from Dugi Rat in the west to Ravnica in the east. Off the coastline, just west of Omis, lies a 700m wide shallow area which was formed by deposits of rock and sand brought in by the Cetina river and this area varies in depth.
The Old City of Omis, with its narrow streets and town square, lies at the foot of some very high and steep cliffs.
Omis is a wonderful place to visit for those looking for rest and relaxation. Here guests can choose to stay in a number of apartments, villas and rooms which stretch all the way down the western coastline within the towns of Stanici, Celini, Mimice, Duce, Marusici, and Pisak.
In the past few years Omis has become an exciting destination for all adventurists thanks to the river Cetina and its canyon. For those who are in for an active holiday can enjoy activities such as rafting, mountain climbing, paragliding, and scuba diving.
Every year in the month of July guests can experience a bit of Dalmatian culture by taking part in the festival of traditional Dalmatian choir.
Radmanove Mlinice is a small picturesque town surrounded by lush vegetation within the Cetina canyon and it is a lovely place to just go and relax.
The city of Omis has a long history. It has been inhabited since roman times and “Oneum” (Omis) was declared a city in the Middle Ages.
