The Dalmatian city of Omis is 25km away from the city of Split and it lies on the left bank and at the mouth of the Cetina river. Its spacious beaches stretch from Dugi Rat in the west to Ravnica in the east. Off the coastline, just west of Omis, lies a 700m wide shallow area which was formed by deposits of rock and sand brought in by the Cetina river and this area varies in depth.
The Old City of Omis, with its narrow streets and town square, lies at the foot of some very high and steep cliffs.

The city of Omis has a long history. It has been inhabited since roman times and “Oneum” (Omis) was declared a city in the Middle Ages.
