Pirovac è una cittadina a 23 km a nord di Sebenico, situata nel profondo golfo che porta il suo nome, circondata dalle pitoresche insenature (Stinica, Vrulje, Vrilo) e dalle splendide spiagge. L'insenatura di Pirovac puo' essere definita un miracolo della natura: la sua baia lunga ben 10 km., creatasi ad opera degli agenti atmosferici e', a atutt'oggi, caratterizzata da una antur aincontaminata dove il profumo dei pini si mischia alla brezza marina. Nella baia di Makirina sono stati scoperti i fanghi termali che si utilizzano nella talassoterapia evi e' sorto un attrezzato stabilimento termale. Pirovac viene menzionata per la prima volta nel 1298 con il nome Zloselo, mentre l`appellativo odierno le viene dato tra le due guerre mondiali. Vi rimangono parti delle mura di cinta del 1505 e la chiesa di San Giorgo del 1506. Sulla piccola isola di Santo Stefano – Sustipanac, vi sono ritrovamenti di epoca romana.
