Barbariga is een kleine plaats omgeven door onaangetaste natuur en talrijke olijfbomen, op 20 km afstand van Pula en Rovinj. De naam rt Barbariga (kaap van Barbariga) was in de Middeleeuwen bekend als rt Cissana vernoemd naar de legendarische stad Cissa die in de 18e eeuw in de zee verdween.
