Pula is a city situated on the south-western end of the Istrian peninsula and on the interior part of the bay where the islands of St. Katharine, St. Andrew and Uljanik lie and surrounded by three harbour pools.
Because of its size and capacity, Pula is the largest and most important harbour in Istria. Its well-protected bay is also one of the best natural harbours on the Adriatic coast. The city contains two marinas where nautical tourism is becoming more and more popular.
Pula is also considered the city of culture, concerts and film. Many events take place in Pula's amphitheatre (Arena) during the summer months and guarantee a fun and exciting holiday.
The heart of Pula is filled with historical monuments such as the Arena, the shrine of Augustus, Zlatna and Dvojna vrata (the Golden and Double door) and the fortress of Kastel.
Pula offers many amenities that make for a great vacation. Along with its well-equipped hotels, apartments, rooms and private villas, guests can enjoy activities such as sports, recreation, entertainment programs, and terraces with live music, discos, casinos, inns and restaurants as well as many organised excursions. Hotels and apartments are spread out throughout and around the city of Pula. Pula is known for its many first class restaurants which are some of the best in Croatia. Fishing plays a big part in tourism in Pula so you can be sure that only the freshest and finest of fish and seafood specialties are served in the restaurant of your choice. Many tourist facilities are located outside of the city. Beaches stretch along 100km of the beautiful and indented coastline and guests can choose from a wide range of swimming spots.
Just outside of the city centre, we recommend the swimming spots of Stoja, Verudela and Lungo Mare.
Pula is the perfect place to enjoy a fun-filled relaxing holiday with great food amongst great friends.
