The Hercegovacko-Neretvansko county spans on 40,401m2 of land and has a population of around 216,736 people. It has a variety of different civilizations, cultures, traditions, religions and opinions. This county is made up of the municipalities of: Mostar (Old Town, West, North, South, Southwest, Southeast), Capljina, Neum, Ravno, Stolac, Citluk (Medjugorje), Konjic, Jablanica and Prozor. It is rich in tourist locations, cultural heritage, natural beauty and economy, as well as being the only county that has access to the Adriatic sea by way of Neum. Some attractive tourist spots are Pocitelj (a medieval fortified city), Hutovo Blato (one of the richest swamp-bird reserves in Europe), Mongorjelo (a monument of late antique times and an Illyric contribution to the formation of roman culture), the river Neretva (for rafting, hunting, fishing, swimming, etc.), Mostar (the old bridge), Medjugorje (the holy land of the queen of peace), along with many mountainous masses covered in beautiful green forrests and rivers full of clean and flowing drinking water.
