The city's main tourist attraction is the Old Town which has since been restored. It is a city of fortresses and is surrounded by a horticultural monument and a beautiful park in which the statue of St. Jeronim stands.
Visitors can take a look at the history of Cakovec and Medimurje in the city's museum which is located in the Old Town of Zrinski. Other important cultural centres such as: the city library and cultural centre are close by where visitors can take part in watching films, concerts, theatrical performances and art exhibitions. Another fascinating monument is a complex of Franciscan monasteries from the baroque era as well as the church of St. Nicolas.
Tourism in Medjimurje is very diverse. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rafting on the Mura River, visiting wine cellars, fishing, agrotourism, hot springs, horseback riding as well as many restaurants. Medjimurje's restaurants are known for serving wonderful traditional homemade cuisine. They also specialize in serving quality wines which come from the hills of Medimurje and its wine cellars.
