Cavtat is a small coastal town on the southern side of the Zupska inlet and 20km south of Dubrovnik. This town was built on the southern slopes of the Rat peninsula with the Tiha inlet on the southern side.
Being so close to Dubrovnik, tourism in Cavtat has grown and it has become quite a popular tourist destination in Southern Dalmatia. For example, accomodations include a wide range of private homes which offer rooms and apartments, villas, campsites and hotels.
Cavtat's backdrop, which are the hills of Konavle, is also a source of economic growth because they are a source of quality homemade wine and delicious traditional cuisine. In the center of Cavtat, for example, there is the prince's castle, the Bogisceva library, the church of St. Nicolas, a franciscan monastery and the palace of Kaboga.
