Gradac is 40 kilometers away from Makarska, situated halfway between Split and Dubrovnik. The area of the city was inhabited in prehistoric times. Gradac is mentioned for the first time in X.ct. and in the whole area were found  historic ruins that testify of the rich history of this place. Nearby are Baćanska Lakes (8 km) and the delta of the Neretva River (15 km).
