Lopar e' un paese pittoresco situato a nord dell'isola e dalla citta' di Rab dista 14km. E' la citta' natale del fondatore della Republica di San Marino - lo scultore Marin. Se a Lopar venite dalla direzzione della citta' di Rab il primo monumento che vedrete e' propio quello dedicato a lui. In suo onore il villaggio turistico e il camping portano il nome "San Marino".

Una cittadina vivace e con tante diversita', quella che sull'isola ha mantenuto di piu' la connessione col passato,  visibile nel modo in cui vivono gli abitanti e nel loro linguaggio.

Eccetto la valle fertile Lopar ha molte spiaggie sabbiose. La piu' conosciuta e' la Rajska plaza (spiaggia paradisiaca), ideale per i nuotatori non troppo bravi e i bambini grazzie al lungo tratto di poca profondita'. Accanto alla Rajska plaza le piu' conosciute spiaggie sono quelle nudistice: Ciganka, Sahara e Stolac. La sabbia, la poca profondita' , l'acqua calda, il fitto bosco che offre la protezione dai venti e dal sole sono particolarmente attraenti per le famiglie con bambini piccoli. Nelle vicinanze della Rajska plaza si trova un centro sportivo con contenuti differenti: tennis, calcio, basket, pallavolo, minigolf, tennis da tavolo e molti sport aquatici.
