La regione di Sarajevo e` situata sulla parte orientale della Bosnia-Erzegovina, con una superficie di 1.276,9 km2 di cui fanno parte i comuni: Stari Grad, Centar, Novo Sarajevo, Novi Grad, Ilidza, Vogosca, Hadzic, Ilijas e Trnovo, che contano cca. 391.000 abitanti. La zona di Bijambara si trova nella parte a nord-est della regione di Sarajevo e del comune di Ilijaš.
