The Schmittenhöhe near Zell am See is one of the most popular ski areas in the SalzburgerLand. It is considered to be the most beautiful view mountain. It is a modern ski area with varied slopes (77 km) - from the flat family run to black slopes.The pistes are almost always in a perfect condition, since they do not get any direct sunlight. The 'Trass' with a length of 4,150 m belongs to the legendary slopes; once a year the traditional Trass-Lauf takes place.
The Schmittenhöhe ski area is also home to the world's largest fun-slope, a 2-km-long cross-country ski trail and a snowpark area for freestyling. Several 'children's countries' provide fun among the youngest.

The Maiskogel at Kaprun is the family ski area in this region. 20 km mostly easy slopes, cozy ski huts and a rich offer for children, such as the all-year cute, a ride on the snow groomer or the „Maisi-Phantasy-Park“ guarantee family fun!
A shuttle bus is driving for free between Kaprun, Zell am See and Viehhofen, which means that all ski resorts can be easily combined.
