Crikvenica (Cirquenizza) è una pittoresca città e noto centro turistico. Il clima mediterraneo e le bellezze naturali del luogo hanno reso possibile la trasformazione in centro turistico di quello che una volta era un semplice villaggio di pescatori. A Crikvenica si trova anche un ospedale modernamente attrezzato per la riabilitazione mediante talassoterapia. Il lungomare si estende per 8 km alternando spiagge di ghiaia e sabbia a pinete racchiuse entro piccoli moli. La costa è un susseguirsi di baie e insenature e tra gli sport abitualmente praticati spiccano il tennis, minigolf, vela e pallanuoto - quest'ultima viene praticata all'aperto in una piscina "marina" ricavata in una delle baie. Il frequentato centro turistico prende il nome dalla presenza di una chiesa e di un monastero eretti dai paolini nel 1412 per volontà del nobile Nikola Frankopan.
