La città di Trogir - Trau, chiamata anche "piccola Venezia", è un vero museo del patrimonio medioevale. Trogir è uno dei gioielli della costa dalmata, città scrigno, con tanti monumenti degni di nota, in gran parte raccolti attorno alla piazza Giovanni Paolo II (trg Ivana Pavla II). Nel 1997 Trogir è stata inserita nel registro del patrimonio mondiale dell`UNESCO. Il centro storico della cittadina è in gran parte circondato da mura con due porte di accesso. Un ponte la unisce ora alla terraferma e un altro con l˙isola di Ciovo. Il turismo ha baciato questa città: ora gelaterie, ristoranti e pizzerie occupano spesso le piccole piazze.
La maggior parte della città vecchia è protetta da mura , nella parte sud si apre un bellissimo viale con le palme.
