Vi confluiscono quattro valli: la Valdidentro, percorsa dal torrente Viola, la Valfurva, percorsa dal Frodolfo e la Valle del Braulio che la collega al Passo dello Stelvio, e la Valdisotto, nella quale scorre il fiume Adda.
